Can we do more than just wine tasting on a private tour?
Absolutely! With our Private Tours, we’re completely flexible on where the tour goes and what you do.
We can organize a number of itineraries that incorporate not only great local wineries, but also distilleries, breweries, olive oil, farm tours and more!
We can also combine some tasting with a fun activity – such as Zip-Lining in Santa Margarita, riding a Humvee over the Sahara-like dunes on Pismo Beach, a private Hearst Castle experience, kayaking in Morro Bay, horseback riding and so much more!

Do you plan our itinerary for us?
Yes! We take care of all your itinerary planning and will make any necessary reservations and appointments for your group at no extra charge, so you can just sit back and relax.
How do I know if you have availability on my preferred tour date?
Please submit a Private Tour Quote Request. We’ll check and confirm availability and provide a price quote promptly.
How far in advance should I reserve my tour?
There is no set length of time. Saturdays and holiday weekends tend to fill up faster. Fall is our busiest season, followed closely by Summer.
Get your Private Tour Quote now, then book your tour as soon as you decide to go for it.
Where can you pick us up?
We are happy to pick you up from your hotel or accommodation anywhere in San Luis Obispo county, within a 50 mile radius of Paso Robles.
There is an additional fee for pickups over 15 miles from downtown Paso Robles.
If you have a request for pickup outside of San Luis Obispo County, please submit a Private Tour Quote Request to determine what is possible.
How much will my tour cost?
Your tour cost will be determined by such factors as the tour length, distance traveled, vehicle size, included activities (i.e. Hearst Castle entry, etc.) and the day and season of your tour.
Lunch is an additional expense, as are wine tasting or activity fees. Gratuity is added on at a rate of 18%.
Please note: For a charter or private tour a $200.00 or 20% deposit, whichever is greater, will be charged upon confirmation of the booking. As long as we have not received the deposit, the charter or tour is not confirmed and your requested date will not be held.
Is lunch included for our Private Tour?
Sorry, no. However, we are happy to provide you with a variety of lunch options to choose from which can be added to your tour for an additional cost.
When wine tasting, some of our favorite options include enjoying an exclusive food and wine pairing at one of the wineries, making a reservation at one of the high-quality winery restaurants, or ordering a delicious deli-style picnic lunch to enjoy at a winery.
What if I am not sure about how many guests I will have?
Tour group sizes often fluctuate. Give us your best guess. We are happy to work with you as best we can to establish a range of likely attendees and price the tour with that range in mind.
Depending on group size the hourly rate may change.
What are wine tasting fees? How much are they?
These are fees charged by the winery compensating them for the wine they pour guests. They can vary widely from one winery to another. The average tasting fee can range anywhere from $10 to $50 per guest for anywhere from four to nine tastes (an ounce or two each). The average is $15-$20 per person.
Wineries are in the business of selling their wine, not tastings – so if you find a wine or winery you like, we strongly encourage you to buy some bottles or join their wine-club!
Not only will you be supporting a local business, but most of the wineries are small, boutique wineries that don’t distribute their wines and only offer them for sale directly through their tasting room. So this is your only chance to bring them home to enjoy later.
Are these fees ever waived?
Yes. Most of the wineries will waive tasting fees for those guests who purchase their wine or join their wine club.
Each winery has a different policy, so be sure to ask what their policy is in advance if this is important for you.
How do you select the wineries?
If there are specific wineries you’d like to visit, we’ll start there. We’re happy to schedule your tasting appointments at the wineries of your choice, if they have availability.
Same thing if you have particular types of wine or particular experiences you’d like to try. We’ll work with you to help select your wineries based on these preferences, and other factors, such as location considerations, appointment availability and our knowledge of great tasting experiences.
We like to visit very specific wineries. Is this possible?
Yes. We’ll do our best to accommodate any specific requests, providing those wineries will grant the appointments, and that the tour itinerary is logistically feasible.
If you are a wine club member at any of the requested wineries, please include this information and the club members’ name, as this can help when making reservations. Please include your desired wineries in your Private Tour Quote Request.
May we drink alcohol on the bus?
Yes, if enjoyed responsibly.
However, please keep in mind that tasting rooms can refuse to serve intoxicated guests (even if you do have a driver), and that wouldn’t be a lot of fun!
Additionally, if a guest does become too intoxicated, they may need to be removed from the tour early, at their own expense.
Ultimately, we want to ensure that each tour is successful, with all the guests having a great experience!
May we eat on the bus?
Yes! For most private tours we will provide a cheese tray to share, but feel free to bring anything else you would like throughout your day.
Please let us know in advance if you would like for us to have additional food available on the bus, or if you need us to bring utensils.
Are children allowed on the tour?
Yes! Children of all ages are welcome on the tour though drinking alcohol is not permitted for those under the age of 21.
By California law, any children under the age of 8 years old, as well as any children shorter than 4’9” must be secured in a car seat or booster seat.
Toast Tours DOES NOT provide a car seat or booster seat, and it is your responsibility to provide this yourself.
Children under the age of 8 years old will not be allowed on the vehicle if you do not have a car seat or booster seat.
Please bring a valid photo ID.
Are your tours dog friendly?
Absolutely! We welcome well-behaved dogs on our private tours (maximum 13 guests), at no extra cost, and are happy to work with you to build your perfect dog-friendly wine country day.
By reserving a private tour with your canine friends, you agree to pay for any and all damage and/or special cleaning to the vehicle which results, or is required, due to you or your pet’s conduct ($350 minimum). You agree that the charges for such repairs (actual repair cost plus loss time of vehicle) and/or any special cleaning ($350.00 minimum) will be charged to the credit card for the individual or booking party.
Will you add any taxes or fuel fees to our tour price?
No taxes and no additional fees. The price you see is the price you pay.
How can I make a reservation?
Start with our Tour Quote Request on the Private Tours, Transportation & Charters page. We’ll confirm that your tour date is available, and then we’ll work up a price quote for you. If you like it, let us know and we’ll process your reservation.
If you want to reserve a vehicle online, you can leave a deposit here.
What is your cancellation policy?
For a charter or private tour a non-refundable $200.00 or 20% deposit, whichever is greater, will be charged upon confirmation of the booking.
As long as we have not received the deposit, the charter or tour is not confirmed and your requested date will not be held.
For our private tours a full refund will be given for cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time. Any cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will not be entitled to any refunds.
Are you fully licensed and insured?
Yes. We are registered, regulated, and licensed by the State of California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The CPUC requires insurance and vehicle inspections as a condition of licensing.
