Day 1: Arrive in Paso Robles

After you’ve checked in to your hotel, the first thing you’re going to do is head to the downtown city park to meet Erik Hormann of Paso Robles Tour Co to enjoy a Paso Robles Happy Hour Walking Tour. You’ll learn about the town’s unique history & see some of the top sights in the company of a friendly local before finishing at a hip downtown spot for a happy hour drink with your new friends.

After your tour, you’ll take a short walk to catch your dinner reservation at one of the best restaurants in Paso Robles, Les Petites Canailles. A relative newcomer in the local dining scene, owner & Chef Julien Asseo is no newbie to Paso Robles or fine cuisine. His family moved from France to Paso in the ’90s to start the now renowned winery, L’Aventure. Julien himself studied in culinary school in Bordeaux before eventually finding himself as the Executive Chef at Michelin starred Guy Savoy in Las Vegas. Focusing on fine-French cuisine in a Paso casual setting, and with one of the best wine lists around, you can be sure your trip is off to the best start. Be sure to leave room for dessert! Walk back to your hotel to get some rest before your big day the next day – a Paso Robles wine tour!

Day 2: Full-Day Paso Robles Wine Tour or  Craft Distillery Trail Tour

Wake up early to grab yourself a hearty breakfast at Joe’s Place. A local favorite serving up large portions of standard country staples like biscuits and gravy, hearty omelets, or killer huevos rancheros. If you’re looking for something a little lighter and need a great coffee to get you going, check out AMSTRDM Coffee House to get your morning started right.

Today, you’re going to get out into the countryside and taste some of what makes Paso Robles so special – our wine! We recommend enjoying a wine tour guided by experts that can take you to the best wineries specifically for you and give you insight into what makes the region so special. Check out our private and public tour options to see what is the best fit for you!

Not really into wine? Been to Paso before and looking to experience something different? Then check out our full-day Craft Distillery Trail & Cocktail Making Tour! You’ll enjoy a spirited introduction to the burgeoning distillery trail and taste your way through local craft vodkas, gins, brandies & whiskeys (oh my!) before finishing the day with a hands-on cocktail-making class. Learn how to perfectly pair different spirits and practice your skills on the spot by making your own delicious cocktails to enjoy.

After you get dropped back off at the hotel, it’s time to freshen up and head out to grab a relaxed bite to eat. Head over to The Backyard on Thirteenth to sit in their outdoor beer garden and enjoy delicious gourmet street food from Roots on Railroad (get the Tri-Tip Sandwich and the Pad Thai Fried – you’ll thank us later) along with a refreshing craft brew. If you find yourself getting a second wind and want to keep the party going, head over to grab a cocktail at The Alchemists Garden, a new spot offering innovative cocktails and a creative food menu in a lively downtown location on the park.

Day 3: Brunch & Olive Oil – or go ride a horse through a vineyard!

Check-out of your hotel and head over to one of the best restaurants in Paso Robles, Thomas Hill Organics, to check out their delicious lunch (or brunch!) menu. Order from their constantly changing seasonal menu of locally sourced, farm-to-table cuisine to enjoy in their charming courtyard.

Afterwards, you can enjoy a stroll in the downtown park and some boutique shopping before jumping in your car and heading just out of town to taste through some high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil at Kiler Ridge Olive Farm. Situated at the top of a mountain with stunning panoramic views, your host will guide you through a tasting of their high-quality olive oils while educating about their farming & production practices. Each tasting finishes with a surprise ‘treat’ that’s sure to impress!

If you’re feeling adventurous, make time to enjoy a horseback ride through a vineyard with Central Coast Trailrides! One of the best things to do in the area, you’ll choose the ride that best suits your level and meet up with a small group to enjoy a 1 – 1.5 hour ride through a vineyard. Finish the ride with a wine tasting or delicious locally made gelato.

And there you have it! Follow these recommendations and you’ll enjoy the best restaurants and things to do on your trip to Paso Robles. Cheers!
